Georgia Gambling Conference 2021 took place in Tbilisi on April 15, dedicated to the peculiarities of running a gambling business in the modern realities of the Georgian market and the prospects for development of the industry.
Event was attended by representatives of Georgian casinos and niche companies. They talked about the current situation in the gambling industry, analyzed innovations in the regulation of gambling activities, considered important mechanisms of responsible gaming and shared the secrets of casino promotion.
In the demo zone of the conference, industry companies presented their best solutions for launching a gambling business, establishing a casino, performing financial transactions with cryptocurrencies and other purposes.
The event united the leaders of the gambling market and became a platform for exchanging experience and productive networking.
Presentations of speakers
Georgia Gambling Conference 2021 kicked off with a speech by Lavrentiy Gubin, Head of Marketing and PR at Talentgrator. He discussed why gambling operators should adhere to the concept of a responsible gaming. The expert considered the phenomenon of risky behavior and named the reasons for compulsive gambling addiction. Thus, in order to combat gambling addiction and maintain a positive social image, operators should study their audience, train personnel correctly and avoid manipulating players.
Maka Gorgadze – CMO at Adjara casino talked about how the gambling market in Georgia has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. She presented an overview of the current state of the gambling industry, named the countries with the perfect conditions for casinos and voiced her expectations and forecasts for the further development of the industry.
Bryan Simcock, General Manager at Casino Shangri La Tbilisi spoke about the contribution of land-based casinos to international tourism and the national economy. The expert provided data on the number of travelers from abroad and the number of jobs that are created thanks to the developed international tourism. He drew attention to the fact that gambling establishments receive a significant part of their income from foreigners. According to Brian, the conditions for conducting gambling activities in Georgia contribute to attracting investment, creating jobs and developing tourism.
The topic “Cryptoprocessing for gaming industry” was revealed by George Paliani, а chief of growth & PR at CoinsPaid. He spoke about the importance of cryptocurrencies and the disadvantages of traditional payment methods used in the iGaming industry. According to him, problems in terms of accepting payments can be solved with the help of crypto processing, which provides a high level of security and fast transaction speed. The expert also recommended how to choose a payment gateway.
Maryna Zapolska, CEO at Talentgrator, addressed the issues related to recruiting IT talents in the iGaming industry. She highlighted trends on the IT market in context of COVID-19 pandemic. The speaker discussed effective strategies for attracting personnel in the iGaming sphere: she advised to choose cross-industrial hunting and develop referral programs.
Peyvand Pourshaban, Director of Radio Teflis spoke about how to use artificial intelligence technologies for inbound marketing. According to the expert, inbound marketing is an effective method for expanding your customer base. AI technologies and social media can serve as a tool to help promote a business. The speaker explained how artificial intelligence can be applied at entertainment websites and explained how a path to the client can be built using AI solutions.
Ivan Kurochkin, Partner at 4H consulting agency raised the issue of the importance of responsible gaming mechanisms and revealed the subtleties of their work in different jurisdictions. He clarified how to approach the implementation of principles aimed at protecting gamblers from the gambling addiction. In addition, Ivan named good and bad rules in terms of supporting responsible gaming mechanisms.
Speaking at the conference, Ilya Machavariani, Senior Partner at 4H raised the topic of self-regulation in the field of gambling. He analyzed how gambling market participants can protect themselves from strict rules and at the same time conduct activities in accordance with all legal requirements. Separately, he raised the issue of the relationship between operators and the regulatory body and spoke about the activities carried out by specialized organizations to protect the industry.
The conference featured a discussion with legal specialists focusing on the innovations in the Georgian gambling legislation that entered into force on March 1, 2021. Experts assessed the accepted requirements and analyzed how they can affect the development of the gambling market.
